Doug Probst

Chairman of Handshake America.

Retired CFO at DSW Inc.

Doug created and co-founded Handshake America in 2011 and retired as CFO of DSW in 2014. He served as President and/or Chairman for eight years until we brought in Jared Weston for the President's role in 2022. He's been a Coach to 20 student-athletes.

Doug and his wife Patty have three children, and one grandson and split their time between Milton, GA and Lake Toxaway, NC.

 

Beth Murphy

SVP, General Counsel, Assistant Secretary at Grange Insurance

Beth joined the Handshake America Board in 2019 and has served as a Handshake America Coach in Columbus. At Grange Insurance Company, Beth focuses on legal and regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and litigation.

Beth has been involved in the Columbus community by serving on several non-profit boards and industry trade associations.

Beth lives in Worthington with her husband Bart and their two teenage daughters.

 

Ronnie Robinson

Chief Supply Chain Officer at Designer Brands, Inc.

Ronnie has 35+ years of extensive retail and manufacturing experience in specialty apparel, footwear and accessories. He has strategic management and production experience both domestically and internationally. His career has included C-Suite roles at J.Crew, Ascena and Mast Industries.

Ronnie has been involved with Handshake America since 2014, initially as a Coach and then as the Coaches Lead on the Central Ohio Regional Leadership Team for 2 years.

Ronnie also serves on the board of Duluth Holdings, Inc.

Ronnie played college Soccer in Scotland and has lived in 6 different countries. Ronnie and his wife, Val, have two grown daughters and live in New Albany, OH.

Chris Lanning

Vice Chairman of Handshake America.

President & CEO of Country Visions, Inc.

Chris is currently President & CEO of Country Visions, Inc. the parent company of Apricot Lane Boutique, the leading women's fashion boutique Franchise in the U.S. Chris and his wife Judy have two grown daughters and reside in the Columbus, OH area.

Chris provided counsel during the early years of Handshake America and helped launch our Atlanta region.

In addition to Handshake America, Chris previously served on the Advisory Board for 3-Strands International and most recently held a Board role with Blood:Water.

 

Cam Murphy

Area Vice President – Columbus Market Leader at Gallagher

Cam leads the property and casualty team for Arthur J. Gallagher for the Columbus marketplace.

Cam spends ample time coaching and mentoring the young sales talent within Gallagher. He is actively involved in the Gallagher Summer Internship Program for college students, and the Gallagher Career Associate Program for post graduate hires.

In his free time, Cam enjoys playing golf, watching the Cincinnati Bengals and Kentucky Wildcats, and spending time with his family and friends.

 

Julie Roy

Chief Marketing Officer at DSW, a Designer Brands Company

Julie joined the Handshake America Board in 2022 based on a passion to grow Handshake America’s participation and make an even bigger impact in the lives of students, coaches, and donors.

Julie started her career in public accounting for EY, migrating to finance at DSW, and then spending the majority of her career in marketing.

Julie and her husband, John, have two elementary-aged children and reside in Powell, Ohio.

Barry Esposito

GM & EVP at Covia Corp.

Barry, a University of Dayton alumnus with a dual major in Finance and Economics, has 29 years of expertise across manufacturing, retail, and mining. Currently, he leads the Performance Materials business and serves as the Strategic Pricing leader for the Industrial Business at Covia Corp.

Barry has been a consistent contributor to Handshake America since becoming a Coach in 2015 to joining our Board in January 2024 and is excited about the opportunity to help us grow.

Barry cherishes family time, spending time with his three children and two grandchildren. He currently resides in Huron, Ohio.   

 

David Probst

Founder & EVP at Conterra Holdings

David joined the Handshake America Board in 2019 and had been a coach for six years prior to that.

As a partner in Conterra Holdings, David focuses on both capital and general corporate management.

David is involved in the Columbus community and is currently on the Dublin Methodist Hospital Development Board.

David lives in Dublin with his wife, Cindy, and has three grown children and four grandchildren.

 

Andrew Summerfield

President & Creative Director, Summerfield Advertising, Inc.

Andrew has been a proud partner of Handshake America since the beginning.

He is passionate about nurturing the Columbus community he calls home. He currently serves on the CCAD Board of Trustees and supports several other local nonprofits as a volunteer, and branding consultant.

Andrew is a member of the 2015 Leadership Columbus Class, as well as one of Business First’s “Forty Under 40” and “20 People to Know in Advertising & PR.”

Andrew and his wife Taryn have four children and reside in Columbus, OH.

Lauren Morr

SVP, Digital Engineering at Abercrombie & Fitch Co.

A 25 Year digital/retail executive specializing in engineering new capabilities for business and team growth. 

Leading large teams of technology, retail operations, and business development groups across multiple retailers in the Columbus area.

My passion for sports:  I will always be an athlete at heart, playing both varsity soccer and club lacrosse in college, and coaching levels from Kindergarten to College club lacrosse over a span of 30 years in multiple states.     

Whether I'm on the field or at business, I am passionate about coaching and giving others skills they need to be successful.

 

Ron Ransom

Chief Executive Officer, American Endowment Foundation

Ron has served on the Handshake America Board of Directors since 2019. Prior to joining the Board, Ron served four years as a coach and major contributor for Handshake America Columbus.

Ron, his wife Robyn, and their two teenage children live in New Albany and are all passionate and active members of the community.
